Transcriptions
I have a had a lot of requests for a transcription of this piece of mine. A slow, pretty ballad in open G tuning.
This is the first guitar piece I wrote almost 35 years ago in high school (ouch!). The title came from the suggestion by someone's aunt that it sounded just like a river. I was heavily into Bruce Cockburn at the time as you may be able to tell.
I love the melody to this traditional song. There is another somewhat more melancholy version of this tune. But this is a more lively rendition, and given the victorious outcome, it seems more appropriate. Csus2 tuning (CGCGCD)
Another driving traditional tune arrange in the style of Martin Carthy using the DADEAE tuning.
