On the Tip of the Tongue Video

Well, I have finally managed to start to catch up on 21st century technology trends by posting my first video on YouTube! Can fame and fortune be far behind? πŸ™‚

The song is On the Tip of the Tongue recorded at a recent concert in Saskatoon (… Saskatchewan … Canada ). It’s not a flashy, wowza!, showstopper; just a quiet little piece that means a lot to me.

For the guitarists out there, click here for a transcription of this piece.

    Splendid Piece.
Tip of the Tongue is Beautiful.
You are indeed a purist when it comes to playing.
I am glad I ran across your site.
I do have a question. I would like to replicate your sound
in my own playing. What is your setup. What do you play
your guitar thru. I am very curious. I like your sound, and
am still experimenting. But I havent quite got there yet.

Thanks very much, Steve. The setup I was using at the time of that performance was a Travis guitar ( http://www.travisguitars.com ) with a Fishman Rare Earth magnetic pickup. I was plugged in to a Bose Tonematch mixer going through an Bose L1 system. I was using one of the acoustic guitar eq presets on the Tonematch. I believe it was one of the Taylor guitar presets – maybe the Taylor Fingerstyle preset – but I can’t be sure. It was about six years ago. Hope that helps.

Thank you for this piece and all of your music. My mom is in deep Alzheimers now and she struggles to be understood, as we struggle to understand her.

We were lucky enought to see Bob perform this touching guitar piece at Rasputins in Ottawa several years ago. It always makes me think of someone…
    Thanks.
